Jazilan is a fictional coastal city and regional capital in the Novaran Federation. The name Jazilan is believed to derive from the ancient Jazir clan and the local suffix -lan. It is located on the Jazilan Strait at the mouth of the Barin River, and has a temperate maritime climate. The city had about 72,000 residents in 2023.

Jazilan was founded in the 11th century as a trading post and grew into a regional port city. By the 18th century it had become a key commercial hub and, after the formation of the Novaran Federation, was designated the provincial capital. Its early prosperity rested on maritime trade, fisheries, and crafts, later diversifying with industrial and service sectors.

Its economy centers on the port, fishing, textiles, and shipbuilding, with expanding services and tourism. The city maintains a distinct local dialect of Novaran; cultural life includes a Lantern Festival and a cuisine that emphasizes seafood and citrus, reflecting its coastal heritage. Architecture blends medieval stone structures with modern commercial and residential buildings, illustrating centuries of urban development.

Jazilan University, founded in 1888, and the Maritime Research Institute anchor higher education and research activities. The city is served by a deep-water harbor, an international airport, and a railway junction, linking it to other urban centers. Notable sites include Old Town, Jazilan Fortress, Pearl Market, and the Maritime Museum.
