Jaotustööde is a term used in Estonian to describe the process of distributing work tasks and responsibilities among people or groups. The word combines jaotus, meaning distribution or division, with töö, meaning work. In management literature and everyday organizational practice it denotes task allocation.

It involves identifying required tasks, breaking them into manageable units, estimating the effort, and assigning tasks based on skills, capacity, and priorities. It also includes setting deadlines, agreeing on expected deliverables, and monitoring progress to ensure balanced workload and coverage.

Jaotustööd occur in various contexts: in private companies and project teams to spread work among employees; in education to divide research or writing tasks in group assignments; and in public administration or logistics to allocate services, resources, or routes.

Common approaches include creating a task breakdown structure, capacity planning, workload balancing, and using responsibility assignment tools such as a RACI matrix. Effective jaotustööd require transparency, fairness, clear accountability, and the ability to reallocate tasks when conditions change.
