It is described as located in the Bascan Highlands of the hypothetical country of Valdria, stretching roughly 40 kilometers along the Valver River. The valley is bordered by the Serran Escarpment to the west and the pine-clad slopes of the Alder Range to the east, featuring a mix of glacially carved terrain, forested slopes, and open meadows.

Istuvalle sits at elevations from about 500 to 1,700 meters. The climate is temperate with alpine influences, producing cool summers and snowy winters. Annual precipitation ranges around 900–1,200 millimeters, supporting a mosaic of coniferous forests and subalpine heath. The Valver River provides a core drainage, with several small tributaries feeding into nearby wetlands during spring melt.

Flora and fauna
