ispravka

Ispravka is a noun used in several Slavic languages, including Russian, Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Serbian, Croatian, and Macedonian, to denote a correction, rectification, amendment, or update. The term derives from the verb ispraviti, meaning to correct, and from the root prav meaning right or correct. In many languages, ispravka is used for formal corrections in documents, records, and publications, as well as for software fixes.

In journalism and publishing, an ispravka refers to a corrigendum or erratum that corrects errors in a previously published article and is often accompanied by an apology. In administrative and legal contexts, an ispravka can denote an amendment or correction to a document, contract, or civil record, such as a birth or marriage certificate.

In information technology, the loanword ispravka is sometimes used in Russian-language or other Slavic-language software contexts to refer to a bug fix or software patch. In general conversation, people may use ispravka to request or indicate that information is incorrect and should be corrected.
