iopromid
Iopromid is a non-ionic, iodinated contrast medium used in medical imaging. It is primarily administered intravenously to enhance the visibility of internal structures during X-ray based procedures such as computed tomography (CT) scans and angiography. The iodine atoms within the iopromid molecule are highly effective at absorbing X-rays, which creates a contrast between tissues that are more or less permeable to the medium. This allows radiologists to better differentiate between blood vessels, organs, and other anatomical features, aiding in the diagnosis of a wide range of conditions, including tumors, vascular abnormalities, and inflammatory processes.
The non-ionic nature of iopromid is significant as it generally leads to a lower incidence of adverse
