Inuktitut is an Indigenous language spoken by the Inuit people of the Canadian Arctic. It is part of the Eskimo-Aleut language family. The word "Inuktitut" itself means "the Inuit language" in the language. It is the most widely spoken of the Inuit languages, with a significant number of speakers in Nunavut, Nunavik (northern Quebec), and Nunatsiavut (northern Labrador).
The language is polysynthetic, meaning that words are often formed by combining many morphemes (meaningful units)
