Intramuraal is a Dutch term meaning "within the walls." It is used to describe things that take place inside the premises of an institution, especially a hospital or care facility. The word derives from Latin intramuralis, from intra "within" and murus "wall." In everyday use, intramuraal contrasts with extramuraal, which refers to activities or care outside the institution.

In healthcare, intramural care refers to services delivered inside an institution, such as inpatient treatment, long-term residential care, or psychiatric care within a hospital or nursing home. Extramural care covers services provided outside the institution, including home nursing, day care, and community support. The choice between intramural and extramural care depends on medical needs, safety considerations, and social circumstances, and financing arrangements may differ accordingly.

In sports and student life, intramural activities are organized within a single institution. Intramural leagues, tournaments, and clubs involve participants from the same school or university, and are distinct from intercollegiate or club sport competitions that include teams from multiple institutions.
