Integracije, a term found in South Slavic languages such as Croatian, Serbian and Bosnian, denotes the act or process of bringing parts into a unified whole. In everyday and academic usage it covers mathematical, social, technological and economic contexts, where distinct elements are linked to function together.

In mathematics, integration is a core calculus operation defined as the accumulation of quantities or as the inverse of differentiation. It yields indefinite integrals, representing families of antiderivatives, and definite integrals, giving numerical values for accumulated quantities over an interval. The Fundamental Theorem of Calculus links differentiation and integration. Practical methods include numerical rules such as the trapezoidal and Simpson’s rule, and approaches like Gaussian quadrature for higher accuracy.

In social contexts, integration describes processes that enable individuals or groups to participate fully in a society or community. This includes economic participation, access to education and language integration, civic engagement, and social cohesion. Indicators often consider employment, income, health, housing, and social networks. Policies aim to reduce barriers for minorities or immigrants while maintaining social balance.

In information technology, data integration refers to combining data from multiple sources to provide a coherent view for users and applications. Techniques include ETL (extract, transform, load), data federation, and middleware; system integration connects software applications, services and devices through APIs and enterprise architectures to ensure interoperability.

Economic and political integration describes agreements and processes that reduce trade barriers, harmonize standards and coordinate policies across regions. Examples include regional blocs such as the European Union, Mercosur or ASEAN. Benefits include larger markets and efficiencies, while challenges include sovereignty concerns, regulatory alignment, and uneven distribution of gains.
