intÉresser

Intéresser is a French verb meaning to provoke the attention, curiosity, or interest of someone. It is used transitively to describe something that interests another person, and in its pronominal form s'intéresser it expresses one’s own interest or interest in a topic.

Conjugation: Intéresser is regular in the present tense. Je intéresse, tu intéresses, il/elle intéresse, nous intéressons, vous intéressez, ils/elles intéressent. The past participle is intéressé (masc) or intéressée (fem), used with être or avoir depending on the construction and object placement; in the passé composé with a direct object preceding the participle, agreement may occur. For stating being interested, French often uses être intéressé par or s'intéresser à, with the latter more common for active engagement: Je m'intéresse à ce sujet.
