Inspekce is a Czech term for formal oversight activities conducted by public authorities to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and standards. It denotes both the act of inspecting and the agency performing it, commonly organized as inspectorates (inspektoráty) within ministries or independent bodies.

In practice, inspekce perform routine checks, investigations, and compliance monitoring across sectors such as consumer protection, market surveillance, environmental protection, labor safety, food safety, veterinary control, and financial or tax regulation. They have powers to conduct on-site inspections, request documents, seize samples or goods, and compel remedial actions. When violations are found, inspectorates can issue corrective orders, fines, or other enforcement measures, and may initiate administrative or criminal proceedings where warranted.
