innerstaden
Innerstaden, or the inner city, is a term used in Sweden and other Nordic contexts to designate the central part of a city. The area usually includes the historic core and surrounding neighborhoods that form the most densely built and commercially active zone. Since city boundaries vary, innerstaden is defined differently by each municipality and may be described in planning documents as a central district or as a cluster of central districts.
