indikaattorin

Indikaattorin is the genitive singular form of the Finnish noun indikaattori, meaning indicator. In Finnish, the genitive singular is used to express possession or association, as in indikaattorin arvo (the value of the indicator) or indikaattorin käyttö (the use of the indicator).

An indikaattori is a measure or signal intended to describe or summarise the state or trend of a phenomenon. Indicators may be physical devices, such as a gauge or display, or abstract metrics, such as economic indicators (inflation rate, unemployment) or environmental indicators (air quality). In research and policy, indicators are used to monitor progress, compare conditions, and guide decisions.
