Inadequats is a term used in certain francophone and bilingual technical contexts to denote items, data, or components that do not meet predefined adequacy criteria. It functions as a label for nonconforming elements within quality control, procurement, and data-management workflows. The term derives from the French adjective inadéquat (not adequate). In practice, inadequats are distinguished from conforming items and are typically routed through a disposition process that may include rework, scrapping, or rejection.

The usage is not common in standard English technical vocabulary; English-language equivalents include nonconforming items, defects, noncompliant data, or rejected components. In mixed-language environments, inadequats may appear in inspection reports, bill of materials, or data quality logs.

In manufacturing or construction, an inadequat item fails one or more technical specifications, such as dimensions, material properties, or tolerances.
