Ilusat is a term occasionally found in Indonesian- and Malay-language texts that refers to illusion or misperception. In modern standard Indonesian, the preferred word for such perceptual phenomena is ilusi; ilusat is considered archaic or dialectal and is not widely used in contemporary scientific writing.

In psychology, an illusion is a misperception arising from the brain's interpretation of sensory information. Illusions can be visual, auditory, or tactile, and are caused by context, lighting, atmospheric conditions, or the brain's expectations. They reveal how perception is constructed rather than representing a straightforward recording of reality.
