Hätätiladet is a term used in Finnish public safety law to describe a state of emergency declared by the government in response to situations that threaten national security, public order, or the health and safety of the population. The concept originates from the Finnish Constitution, which allows the President, upon advice from the Cabinet, to decree hätätiladet when there is a serious threat that cannot be managed under normal legal procedures.
