In English-language scholarship it is not a standard term, but in some medical and historical discussions it is used as a form of the word relating to humors, i.e., the bodily fluids of humoral theory. Because of this variability, the precise sense of humorala depends on the linguistic or disciplinary context.

In the historical context of medicine, humorala or humoral theory refers to the idea that health depends on the balance of four bodily humors: blood, phlegm, black bile, and yellow bile.
