Hoxhaism is a hardline Marxist-Leninist political ideology named after Enver Hoxha, the former leader of Albania. It is characterized by its extreme Stalinism, intense nationalism, and staunch anti-revisionism. Hoxhaists believe that the Soviet Union under Nikita Khrushchev and subsequent communist states had betrayed true Marxism-Leninism and become revisionist. They advocate for a highly centralized state, a planned economy, and the suppression of any perceived ideological deviation.

A core tenet of Hoxhaism is its absolute adherence to Stalinism, viewing it as the purest form of Marxism-Leninism. This includes a strong emphasis on party control, a cult of personality, and the belief that capitalism is an inherent enemy that must be actively fought against. Hoxhaism also champions self-reliance, leading Albania under Hoxha to sever ties with both the Soviet Union and China, believing both to be revisionist powers. This isolationist policy was maintained for decades.

Hoxhaism is also strongly anti-imperialist and anti-revisionist, viewing both Western capitalist powers and Soviet-style socialist states as threats to genuine communism. They believe that international relations should be based on strict ideological purity and that any compromise with opposing ideologies is a betrayal. While the Party of Labour of Albania, led by Hoxha, officially adhered to Hoxhaism, its international influence has been limited, with small Hoxhaist parties existing in various countries around the world.
