hnRNPE
hnRNPE refers to a family of heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins. These proteins are involved in a variety of post-transcriptional processes within the nucleus. Specifically, hnRNPE proteins are known to bind to RNA molecules, influencing their stability, splicing, and transport. They play a role in messenger RNA maturation and can also participate in the regulation of gene expression. The hnRNPE family is characterized by the presence of RNA recognition motifs (RRMs), which are domains that mediate their interaction with RNA. Different members of the hnRNPE family can exhibit distinct cellular localization and functional specificities, contributing to the complex regulation of gene expression. Research into hnRNPE proteins continues to shed light on their involvement in normal cellular functions and their potential roles in various diseases.
