Hjemmeværnsordningen, often translated as the Home Guard, is a volunteer reserve force within the Danish Defence. It was established in 1949 following World War II with the aim of providing a readily available and flexible defense capability for Denmark. The Hjemmeværnet is an integral part of the Danish military structure, operating under the command of the Danish Defence Command.

The primary mission of the Hjemmeværnet is to support the regular armed forces in times of crisis, war, or natural disasters. Recruitment is open to Danish citizens who meet certain age and physical requirements. While members are volunteers, they are subject to military law and discipline when on duty or in uniform.
