Henkilöyhtiöt is a Finnish legal term referring to partnerships, a type of business entity. In Finland, there are two primary forms of henkilöyhtiöt: avoin yhtiö (general partnership) and kommandiittiyhtiö (limited partnership). These structures are characterized by the personal liability of the partners involved.

In an avoin yhtiö, all partners have unlimited personal liability for the company's debts. This means that their personal assets can be used to cover any financial obligations of the business. Decisions are typically made jointly by all partners.

A kommandiittiyhtiö, on the other hand, has at least one general partner (vastuunalainen yhtiömies) with unlimited liability and at least one limited partner (kommandiittiyhtiö) whose liability is limited to the amount of capital they have contributed to the company. The general partner manages the business and bears unlimited responsibility, while limited partners typically have a more passive role and their risk is confined to their investment.

Both forms of henkilöyhtiöt require at least two partners. They are often chosen by smaller businesses or those where the partners have a high degree of trust and are willing to accept personal liability for the business's success or failure. The registration and administration of these entities are governed by Finnish company law.
