This includes obtaining consent where necessary, implementing appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure data security, appointing a data protection officer in certain cases, and conducting data protection impact assessments for high-risk processing activities. Supervisory authorities, such as the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman in Finland, are responsible for monitoring and enforcing compliance with these laws. Non-compliance can result in significant fines.
