Hemodialyysissä is the Finnish term for hemodialysis. Hemodialysis is a medical treatment that filters and purifies the blood using a machine. The frequency and duration of hemodialysis treatments vary depending on the individual's condition. Most people require hemodialysis three times a week, with each session lasting several hours. Hemodialysis is a life-sustaining treatment for individuals with end-stage renal disease (ESRD), also known as kidney failure. While it does not cure kidney disease, it effectively manages the symptoms and complications associated with it, allowing individuals to live longer and healthier lives.
