halkiutun
Halkiutun is an indigenous language traditionally spoken by the Haisla people of the Pacific Northwest coast of Canada. It is part of the Wakashan language family, specifically belonging to the Northern Wakashan branch. Halkiutun is closely related to Heiltsuk, Oowekyala, and Kwak'wala, with significant similarities in grammar and vocabulary. Historically, Halkiutun was spoken in the region around Douglas Channel in British Columbia.
