A hadron collider is a type of particle accelerator designed to collide hadrons. Hadrons are composite subatomic particles made by quarks and antiquarks held together by the strong force. Detectors surrounding these collision points record the debris from these high-energy events, providing data for physicists to analyze. Experiments at hadron colliders have led to significant discoveries, such as the Higgs boson. The ongoing research aims to understand dark matter, dark energy, and the fundamental forces governing the universe.
