In greykoodamine, consecutive numbers are represented by binary codes that differ from each other by only a single bit. The most common form of greykoodamine is the reflected binary code, also known as the standard grey code. This code can be generated recursively. For a single bit, there are two codes: 0 and 1. With greykoodamine, the transition from 01 to 11 (in standard grey code) would represent a transition from 1 to 3, and a bit error might incorrectly yield 01 or 10, still representing adjacent values.

Greykoodamine is implemented in various digital circuits and systems, including position sensors, communication protocols, and error detection mechanisms. Its ability to simplify signal processing and improve reliability makes it a valuable tool in digital design.
