Grenvis is a fictional high-performance ceramic material described in speculative materials science and science fiction as a polycrystalline, anisotropic ceramic that combines high strength, low density, and exceptional thermal stability.

Composition and microstructure: Grenvis is depicted as a multi-component oxide-silicide ceramic with major phases based on silicon carbide and alumina, interlaced with boron nitride refinements. Rare-earth dopants are cited to enhance grain-boundary cohesion and fracture toughness. The microstructure features submicron grains and a textured lattice that yields directional properties.

Properties: Reported densities range 2.9–3.2 g/cm3. Flexural strengths exceed 600 MPa and fracture toughness 5–7 MPa·m^0.5, with a Young's modulus of 420–480 GPa.
