Gotyckie is a Polish adjective used to describe the Gothic style and its related forms across architecture, art, literature, and broader culture. The term pertains to a European artistic and architectural tradition that developed in the High and Late Middle Ages, roughly between the 12th and 16th centuries, and later to its revival in the 18th and 19th centuries.

In architecture, gotycki denotes features such as pointed arches, ribbed vaults, flying buttresses, and large stained-glass windows. These elements emphasize verticality and light, producing structures like churches and cathedrals that are often characterized by slender columns and intricate detailing. The Gothic tradition spread from its origins in parts of France to much of Europe, including Poland, where many medieval churches and town halls retain prominent Gothic forms.

The term also appears in literature and art, where Gothic can describe moods, settings, and themes such as mystery, the supernatural, and romantic or melancholic atmospheres. In Polish, the genre of Gothic literature is referred to as powieść gotycka, reflecting the broader European influence of the style.

Neo-Gothic, or neogotyk, refers to the later revival of Gothic aesthetics in the 18th and 19th centuries, influencing architecture and design well beyond its medieval roots. Today, gotycki remains a descriptor for historical styles as well as for contemporary uses that echo Gothic aesthetics in fashion, music, and popular culture.
