Girls' Generation, commonly referred to as SNSD, is a popular South Korean girl group formed by SM Entertainment in 2007. The group's name translates to "GIRLS’ GENERATION," and its members are called "Super New-Generation Girl Group" or simply "Girls' Generation" for short.

The group consists of nine members: Taeyeon, Seohyun, Sunny, Tiffany, Hyoyeon, Yuri, Sooyoung, Yoona, and Jessica. The group's music style is diverse, ranging from bubblegum pop and dance to pop-rock and R&B.

Girls' Generation rose to fame with the release of their debut single "Into the New World" in 2007, but it was their hit single "Gee" in 2009 that propelled them to widespread popularity in South Korea. Their music videos, choreography, and lyrics gained a devoted fan base, not only among the youth but also among various age groups.

Throughout their career, the group has achieved numerous accolades, with over 30 million sales worldwide within their discography and related merchandise. International chart success came when they collaborated with the Chinese singer, ZICO, and also with others on the hit single "Bad Girl".

Throughout their extensive career, Girls' Generation broke significant commercial and cultural barriers as female-led K-pop group in Asia.
