germiyan
The Germiyan, or Germiyanoğulları, refers to a Turkish beylik and dynastic family that ruled parts of western Anatolia in the late medieval period. The beylik took its name from its legendary founder Germiyan, a tribal chieftain who established control during the era of Seljuk fragmentation and the rise of new Turkish polities in central and western Anatolia. The Germiyanids held sway in a region centered on what is now Kütahya Province, with influence over neighboring towns and districts.
