Payments and time limits: Many zones require payment via parking meters or mobile apps; rates and hours of operation differ by zone. Time limits (for example, one to several hours) dictate how long a vehicle may remain parked. Some periods are free, others require purchase of a permit or payment.

Permits and special zones: Resident permits may allow longer stays or free parking in certain streets. Loading zones reserved for deliveries are often marked with specific signs and may require standing restrictions. There are also spaces reserved for disabled drivers with appropriate permits.
