fókuszához

Fókuszához is a Hungarian grammatical construction formed from the noun fókusz, the possessive suffix -a (3rd person singular), and the directional suffix -hoz. The result means “to his/her/its focus” or “toward its focus.” It is used to express movement toward, alignment with, or orientation to a focal point, which may be a concrete optical focus or a figurative focus of attention or activity.

Semantically, the form signals a relationship between something and a central point or aim. It often appears with verbs such as igazodik (to align with) or igazít (to adjust to). For example: “A kamera fókuszához igazítottuk a zoomot” (We adjusted the zoom to the camera’s focus) and “A projekt a fókuszához igazodott, és a célokat ehhez igazították” (The project aligned with its focus, and the goals were adjusted accordingly).

Morphologically, fókuszához illustrates standard Hungarian suffixation: a base noun (fókusz) plus the possessive suffix -a (forming fókusza: “his/her/its focus”) followed by the directional suffix -hoz (“to/toward”). The form agrees with the possessor and with the grammatical role in the sentence. Variants exist for other possessors (fókuszunk, fókuszod, etc.) and with other directional suffixes (-hoz, -hez, -höz) depending on vowel harmony and meaning.
