Fénycsövekkel, or fluorescent tubes, are a type of gas-discharge lamp that uses fluorescence to produce visible light. Inside the tube, an electric current passes through mercury vapor, which emits ultraviolet (UV) radiation. This UV radiation then strikes a phosphor coating on the inside of the tube, causing the coating to glow and emit visible light.
