Färgomsättning is a Swedish term that translates to "color transformation" or "color change." It refers to any process where the color of a material is altered. This can occur naturally or through artificial means.

Natural färgomsättning can be observed in phenomena like the changing colors of autumn leaves, where chlorophyll breaks down revealing underlying pigments like carotenoids and anthocyanins. The browning of fruit when exposed to air is another example, caused by enzymatic reactions.
