Forgatás is a Hungarian term that denotes the act of filming a film, television program, or video. In production context, it refers to the process of capturing moving images and synchronized sound. The form forgatást is the accusative case, used when the act of filming is the object of the sentence, for example: A forgatást befejezték.

Scope and stages: Pre-production involves script breakdown, storyboarding, shot lists, scheduling, location scouting, casting, and production design. Principal photography is the main filming phase, during which scenes are shot on location or on set, with the collaboration of the director, cinematographer, and crew.
