Fluoropolymeereillä are a class of synthetic polymers that contain fluorine atoms. The strong carbon-fluorine bond gives these materials unique properties, including high chemical resistance, thermal stability, and low friction. The most well-known example is polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), commonly known by the brand name Teflon. Other common fluoropolymers include fluorinated ethylene propylene (FEP), polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), and perfluoroalkoxy alkane (PFA).
