Fizyce, commonly called physics in English, is the natural science that studies matter, energy, and the fundamental forces of nature. It aims to describe how the universe behaves using concise theories, mathematical formulations, and experimental tests.

Classical physics covers mechanics, thermodynamics, waves, optics, and electromagnetism. Modern physics includes quantum mechanics, relativity, particle physics, and cosmology. Applied physics translates these ideas into technology, measurement, and new materials.

Its development began with early observations and the formulation of simple laws, culminating in Newton's laws, Maxwell's equations, and later quantum theory and relativity. The practice is guided by the scientific method: observation, hypothesis, experiment, analysis, and peer review. Mathematics provides the language to express theories and predict outcomes.

Physics underpins much of modern science and technology—semiconductors, GPS, medical imaging, energy production, and more. It is studied at undergraduate and graduate levels, often with experimental labs and computational work. In Polish contexts, the term fizyka refers to the field; fizyce is a grammatical form often used in phrases like w fizyce (in physics).
