Fiskeridepartementet is a government ministry in Norway tasked with formulating and administering national policy for fisheries, aquaculture, seafood safety and export, as well as maritime and coastal affairs. The ministry works to ensure sustainable use of marine resources, supports the fishing industry and coastal communities, and represents Norway in international negotiations on fisheries and maritime issues. It develops regulations, grants licenses for commercial fishing and aquaculture, and sets quotas and conservation measures in accordance with scientific advice and international agreements.
