felszínre
Felszínre is a Hungarian directional phrase formed from the noun felszín (surface) with the suffix -re, used to express movement toward or onto the surface. It functions as a spatial adverbial complement and answers the question of direction: toward what destination? In ordinary description, felszínre indicates that something is coming to, or reaching, the surface rather than merely occupying a surface location.
Grammatically, felszínre is a postpositional form. The base word felszín combines with the directional suffix -re
Usage and context can vary slightly by field. In geology, hydrology or natural science writing, felszínre conveys
- A kőzet a mélyből a felszínre emelkedik. (The rock rises from the depths to the surface.)
- A víz a kútból a felszínre kerül. (The water comes to the surface from the well.)
- A gőz a mélyből a felszínre tör. (The steam breaks to the surface.)
