fémszulfidok
Fémszulfidok are chemical compounds formed between a metal and sulfur. They are a significant class of inorganic salts. In these compounds, sulfur typically exists in the sulfide anion, S^2-. The metal can be an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, transition metal, or even a post-transition metal. The bonding in fémszulfidok can range from predominantly ionic, as seen in alkali metal sulfides, to more covalent character in compounds of transition metals.
Many fémszulfidok are insoluble in water, although exceptions exist, such as sodium sulfide and potassium sulfide.
The chemical behavior of fémszulfidok is diverse. They can be oxidized, often to sulfates or elemental sulfur.
