eurózónának

The term "eurózónának" is a Hungarian word, the dative case of "eurózóna," which translates to "eurozone" in English. The eurozone is a monetary union of 20 member states of the European Union that have adopted the euro (€) as their primary currency. These countries share a common monetary policy, overseen by the European Central Bank (ECB).

The establishment of the eurozone was a significant step in European economic integration, aiming to promote price stability, facilitate trade, and foster closer economic cooperation among its members. The euro was introduced as a non-physical currency in 1999, with banknotes and coins entering circulation in 2002. Membership in the eurozone requires countries to meet certain economic criteria, known as the Maastricht criteria, which relate to inflation, government debt, budget deficit, long-term interest rates, and exchange rate stability.

The adoption of the euro has led to several benefits, including the elimination of exchange rate fluctuations within the member states, reduced transaction costs for businesses and consumers, and increased price transparency.
