epitelielt
Epitelielt is a term relating to epithelial tissue. Epithelial tissue, also known as epithelium, is one of the four basic types of animal tissue. It is composed of cells that form a sheet-like layer covering all internal and external surfaces of the body. This includes the lining of organs, blood vessels, ducts, and cavities. Epithelial tissues are characterized by their tightly packed cells with very little intercellular space. They have a free surface, which is exposed to the environment or the lumen of an organ, and a basal surface, which is attached to underlying connective tissue by a basement membrane.
The primary functions of epithelial tissue are protection, secretion, absorption, excretion, filtration, diffusion, and sensory reception.
