Enratemetode, literally "one-rate method" in Danish and related Scandinavian languages, refers to a methodological approach focused on estimating a single rate parameter that remains constant over the observation interval. The core idea is simplicity: by assuming a fixed rate, the model reduces complexity and yields interpretable results.

In practice, one collects time-series data for the quantity of interest and selects a model in which the rate parameter r is the sole parameter governing dynamics, such as N(t) = N0 e^{rt} for exponential growth/decay or linearized forms obtained by taking logarithms. The rate r is then estimated via regression on transformed data or via maximum likelihood, depending on the distribution of measurement errors.

Applications: In finance, it can describe a constant interest rate over a period; in biology or chemistry, first-order processes; in epidemiology or demography, approximate constant growth rates for a short window.
