Emulziókhoz refers to the plural form of emulsion in Hungarian. An emulsion is a mixture of two or more liquids that are normally immiscible (unmixable), such as oil and water. In an emulsion, one liquid is dispersed in the form of tiny droplets within the other liquid. This is achieved by adding an emulsifier, a substance that stabilizes the mixture and prevents the liquids from separating.

Emulsifiers work by having a hydrophilic (water-attracting) end and a lipophilic (oil-attracting) end. This dual nature allows them to position themselves at the interface between the oil and water droplets, reducing the surface tension and creating a stable dispersion. Common examples of emulsifiers include lecithin, found in egg yolks, and various surfactants.

Industrial applications include paints, lubricants, and asphalt.
