emocionáis

Emocionáis is the second person plural (vosotros/vosotras) present indicative form of the Spanish verb emocionar. It is used in Iberian Spanish to address a group informally and means "you (all) move/affect emotionally" when used transitively; when used reflexively with the clitic os (os emocionáis) it means "you (all) become moved" or "you get excited." The form is regular, following the conjugation pattern of -ar verbs, and carries the written accent on the vowel á to mark the stressed syllable (emocionáis).

Usage is largely regional: vosotros/emocionáis appears in Spain, while most Latin American varieties use ustedes emocionan for the same meaning. The affirmative vosotros imperative uses a different form (emocionad), and the present subjunctive counterpart is emocionéis.

Etymologically, emocionar derives from emoción, which comes via French émotion from Latin emotio(emot-) related to emovere ("to move"). Examples: "Vosotros emocionáis a la audiencia con vuestra música" (You all move the audience with your music) and reflexive, "Os emocionáis con esa película" (You all get moved by that film).

The written accent distinguishes emocionáis from similar-looking forms in other languages (for example, Portuguese emocionais) and signals the stress pattern characteristic of vosotros present-tense endings.
