Undigested material then passes into the large intestine, where water is absorbed, and waste products are formed into feces.

Finally, feces are stored in the rectum and eliminated from the body through the anus. The digestive system also involves accessory organs such as the liver, gallbladder, and pancreas, which produce essential digestive juices and enzymes.
