Elliptiseksi is a Finnish grammatical form used to express a change of state toward an elliptical shape or quality. It is the translative form of the adjective elliptinen, and it functions to indicate that something becomes elliptical or takes on an elliptical form. The translative suffix -ksi expresses transformation, turning a subject into a new state or category. Therefore, phrases like muuttaa elliptiseksi mean “to become elliptical” or “to take on an elliptical form.”

In practice, elliptiseksi is common in discussions of geometry, design, and figurative language when describing shapes, outlines, or ideas that depart from a circular or typical form toward an elongated or oval form. It is especially frequent with verbs such as muuttua (to become) or tulla (to become), which introduce a change of state.
