Egira, also known as Aegira or Aigira, is a town and former municipality located in Achaea, Greece. It is situated on the Gulf of Corinth, west of Corinth. Historically, Egira was an important city in ancient Greece, known for its strategic location and its role in regional trade. Archaeological findings in the area suggest a long and continuous settlement dating back to antiquity. The ancient city boasted temples, public buildings, and fortifications, remnants of which can still be seen today.
