Dworach is the locative plural form of the Polish word dwór, which denotes a manor house or rural estate. In historical usage, a dwór referred to the residence of the landowning nobility (szlachta) and the associated manor complex, typically including auxiliary buildings, farm facilities, and a surrounding park or landscape.

Historically, manors functioned as local centers of administration, production, and culture within the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and later periods. The dwór was often the social and economic hub of a rural parish, hosting landowners, tenants, local officials, and guests, and acting as patron of churches, schools, and charitable activities. The architectural form varied by region and era, ranging from modest wooden houses to grand brick or stone mansions. Across centuries, styles such as Renaissance, Baroque, and Neoclassical influenced manor design, with common features including a two-story or single-story layout, a representative façade, service wings, and a surrounding park or landscaped grounds.

In the 19th and 20th centuries, many dwory were tied to the feudal and agricultural systems of the time. Political upheavals, wars, and land reform led to the repurposing, partial destruction, or privatization of many estates. In present-day Poland, surviving dwory are preserved as cultural heritage sites, museums, hotels, schools, or private residences. They continue to be valued for their historical significance, architectural variety, and role in rural cultural memory.
