Domain data, or domaindata, is a generic IT term for data that describes or is associated with a domain. The meaning of "domain" varies by context: in networking, it can denote a DNS domain; in identity and access management, it can denote an Active Directory or similar domain; in software engineering, it can denote the domain layer of a software system or a business domain. As such, domaindata covers a broad set of data types tied to that domain, including configuration, identity, object definitions, and business rules.

In DNS, domain data refers to the information stored in a zone that helps translate domain names to network resources, including resource records such as A, AAAA, MX, and CNAME records, as well as zone metadata and serial numbers. In directory services, domain data comprises objects such as users, groups, computers, organizational units, policies, trust relations, and their attributes. In software development, domain data corresponds to the domain model: the entities, value objects, and relationships that represent the core business concepts.

Storage and access depend on the domain: DNS data is stored in zone files and DNS servers; directory data resides in LDAP-compatible directories or domain controllers; domain model data is persisted in relational or NoSQL databases. Access is controlled by authentication and authorization, with auditing and backup as standard practices because domain data is central to identity, naming, and business logic.
