dnevne

Dnevne is an inflected form of the adjective dnevni, used in several South Slavic languages such as Croatian, Bosnian, Serbian, and Montenegrin to mean daily or relating to the day. It appears most often as a modifier for feminine plural nouns.

As a grammatical form, dnevne is the feminine plural nominative (and accusative) of the adjective. It appears in phrases like dnevne vijesti (daily news), dnevne aktivnosti (daily activities), and dnevne obaveze (daily obligations). By contrast, the masculine singular is dnevni, the feminine singular is dnevna, and the neuter singular is dnevno. The corresponding adverb meaning “daily” is dnevno.

Etymologically, dnevne derives from a Slavic root associated with the concept of day, connected to the stem dnev- found in related words across the languages. The term is common in everyday usage to describe things that occur every day or are characteristic of the daytime.
